Angie founded Sara’s Acts of Kindness after being Sara’s caregiver during two long, brutal battles with pediatric brain cancer. When Sara died in November 2022, Angie felt called to do something to help kids with cancer survive and thrive after a cancer diagnosis. Angie works in biomedical research and her passion for research lead to the formation of Sara’s Acts of Kindness. During Sara’s battle with pediatric brain cancer, Angie was introduced to Dr. Roger Packer from Children’s National. He is Director of the Brain Tumor Institute and has been instrumental in helping develop the Sara Willis Brain Cancer Research Initiative.
Angie is a mom of 4 who in her free time enjoys gardening, reading, baking, and listening to podcasts. She loves traveling and would love to travel all around the world, sprinkling Sara’s ashes as she goes. Sara’s memory drives everything Angie is trying to accomplish – every event and everything that Sara’s Acts of Kindness does is based on Sara and what she loved. It is Angie’s mission to keep Sara’s memory alive through acts of kindness and pediatric cancer research.
